ONE YEAR OF RE:BUILD NEW KENSINGTON

By Victor Mroczkowski

We’re coming out of the gate!

We have very exciting news—Re:Build has officially begun operations at our flagship, large-scale manufacturing site in New Kensington, Pennsylvania! It was exactly a year ago when we announced this project to renovate 175,000 square feet of a legacy Alcoa facility that dates back to 1891! The complexity and number of challenges overcome to turn on the lights and get to work were mind-boggling.

This Phase 1 facilities milestone (104,000 square feet) is evidence of smart planning and hard work by many great partners – Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern PA (RIDC), Westmoreland County Industrial Development (WCIDC), R3A Architecture, Mascaro Construction, and their trusted affiliates – all of whom are doing an outstanding job.

Starting with precision machining services, we are working to quickly expand the breadth and depth of our fabrication and assembly capabilities in the coming months. The precision machining is supported daily by our expert-level applications engineers and a robust and stable supply chain comprised of suppliers of diverse raw materials. The work highlights our commitment to manufacturing world-class products on time and on budget and our use of lean and continuous improvement business practices. We also use variety of welding applications and provide the seamless assembly and packaging of finished parts.

Now, we are prioritizing our efforts toward key local and domestic manufacturing gaps where they exist. Applying cutting-edge advanced manufacturing technology, we’re listening closely to our customers and demonstrating what’s possible to rebuild manufacturing in America – with reliability, speed, and efficiency.

Our stakeholders’ enthusiasm for the New Kensington project and the momentum it is generating are inspiring. We don’t take any of it for granted. We have a lot more work to do and are committed to invest over the long term to help rekindle American manufacturing and foster a vibrant local economy. Our mission of sustainable revitalization is taking shape, and every milestone brings us closer to our vision. Thank you for being part of our journey as we redefine possibilities, foster innovation, and create lasting impact. Together, we’re Re:Building New Kensington!
